1. Services Overview

Jahanian Book Co. provides professional book publishing and editorial services, including but not limited to developmental editing, copy editing, proofreading, book design, typesetting, publishing, distribution, and marketing support. Specific services, deliverables, and timelines will be outlined in an individual service agreement or proposal for each project.

2. Client Obligations

When engaging our services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your project
  • Supply manuscript materials and any required assets in a timely manner
  • Respond to editorial queries and approval requests within agreed timelines
  • Ensure you have the legal right to publish the content you submit
  • Make payments according to the agreed schedule

3. Intellectual Property

You retain full copyright and ownership of your original manuscript and all derivative works. Jahanian Book Co. does not claim any ownership rights to your content. We may request permission to use your book title, cover, and a brief description for our portfolio and marketing materials.

4. Payment Terms

Payment terms are specified in your individual service agreement. Generally:

  • A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required to begin work
  • Milestone payments are due according to the project timeline
  • Final payment is due upon delivery of completed files
  • We accept payments via bank transfer, credit card, and PayPal

5. Revisions and Changes

Each service package includes a specified number of revision rounds as outlined in your agreement. Additional revisions beyond the agreed scope may incur extra fees at our standard hourly rate. Significant changes to project scope after work has begun will be discussed and may require a revised proposal.

6. Cancellation and Refunds

If you wish to cancel a project:

  • Cancellations before work begins: full refund minus the non-refundable deposit
  • Cancellations during work: payment is due for all completed milestones
  • We reserve the right to cancel a project with 14 days written notice if client obligations are not met

7. Confidentiality

We treat all manuscripts and project materials as strictly confidential. Your content will not be shared with any third party without your explicit consent, except as necessary to fulfill our services (e.g., sharing with contracted designers or editors under NDA).

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jahanian Book Co. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jahanian Book Co. and its employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) content you submit that infringes on third-party rights; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation.

10. Website Use

When using our website, you agree not to:

  • Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with our Site
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use automated tools to scrape or harvest data from our Site
  • Post or transmit any harmful, threatening, or unlawful content

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of King County, Washington.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this page. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
